What is , Art Led Branding ?
Art-led branding is rooted in the same visual principles whether creating a painting, designing a logo, developing a brand identity, or composing a poster. It begins with understanding how people naturally see and interpret visual information.
When designing, I consider where the eye is drawn first, how visual elements balance against one another, and whether a composition feels clear, confident, and purposeful. These decisions are guided not only by design theory and software tools, but by years of drawing, painting, studying composition, typography, and visual storytelling.
A computer can align objects perfectly and calculate exact measurements, but effective design often relies on optical judgement. Small adjustments to spacing, proportion, lettering, and layout can make the difference between something that is technically correct and something that simply feels right.
This way of working has deep roots in traditional design disciplines such as illustration, sign painting, lettering, typography, and print design. While the tools have evolved, the underlying principles remain the same: balance, hierarchy, rhythm, clarity, and visual harmony.
